#1 - Blacksburg, VA for the "H" Reunion and Dionne's bridal shower
Once upon a time 6 friends who went to Virginia Tech decided to rent two townhomes, side by side, units H15 and H16, found in a little complex known as Sturbridge Square. Three girls lived in one and three girls lived in the other. They had a crazy landlady, Marcia, who loved floral, angels, and all of her tenants. The girls shared many a meals and memories and grew close while living together. After graduation they kept in touch and vowed to reunite as often as they could.
This gathering was the second of many to come. And oh how special it was! What a gift to get together with close friends to relax, eat, laugh, cry, share, listen, and reflect on God's faithfulness not only in our friendships but also in our individual lives. We were missing on member of the H, Weslie formerly known as Erin, and we all missed her very much!

Elissa, Kate, Meredith, Me, and Dionne
I am so thankful to have such loving, knowing, real friends, faithful friends who have walked alongside me and one another through milestones, hardships, and joys without hesitation, full of love.
#2 - Ophelia, VA to kick back at the River House
The River House = relaxation. Seriously. My mom and stepdad have been so generous to let us come and enjoy the house and the river for so many years, and it never gets old. I just love sitting on the dock in the sun with the smell of salt water in my nose and the breeze gliding over my skin or on the porch in the morning drinking coffee feeling the warm sun rise and watching the crabbers pull up their catch. I told you it was relaxing. One highlight this particular weekend was watching our dogs swim! Both dogs really surprised us. Riley is usually more content splashing, but not this time! He bounded right in, retrieved balls and sticks, and even swam after us when we were apparently out too far. And little 10 week-old Penny followed suit. Well, she didn't swim out that far, and she may have needed a little extra coaxing, but she swam and swam and swam! It was fun to watch. We have the river dogs we've always wanted! Also, over the weekend Steve bonded with my stepdad through fertilizing the yard (weird), while my mom and I tended to the dogs, lounged, stretched, and biked. And of course I loved seeing my little sis, Natalie, and her friend friend, Lindsay, who is basically a part of our family too. Steve & I (and the dogs) enjoyed ourselves so much we just might go back this weekend :)
*Swimming photos coming soon*
