London bound

Pool, river, play dates, youth events, family picnics, beach, sun, sweat and only a few tears. That's summer in a nutshell. Photos coming soon, relax Mom ;) our next adventure: London!

We're going to Harrow, London with youth and families from our church here in RVA. We went on a similar trip 2 years ago. This time, Sammy is coming! Are we nervous? Today... No. But my fickle heart & mind may change tomorrow, so pray for us. We are needy, but we believe that God meets our needs. And that is the message we go with. Here is an email I sent out recently...

Friends & family,

We leave for London in less than 4 days. Pray for us! We are very excited and look forward to the adventures that God has in store. To give you a glimpse into our schedule...

We'll spend the first couple days getting to know the area of Harrow as well as the church leaders and missionaries of New Life Suwarta Sangat.

On Sunday, our team will experience a very multi-cultural worship service including music in Gujarati. I bet Sam Jam will enjoy it!

Monday will consist of planning and prep for Kids Club, which runs Tuesday through Friday. During Kids Club, Steve will work with US and UK teens to lead sports & outdoor games. And I (Helene) will lead a short teaching time each day helping kids apply the daily memory verse and pointing them to Jesus. Sam will be tagging along and, no doubt, spreading joy and laughter wherever she goes. Each evening, post-Kids Club, our group will run a Teen Club for the UK volunteers and their friends. Most of the UK teens come from Hindu backgrounds yet are willing to hear and learn about Christianity. We hope our high school students will connect well with the UK teens and that God would open doors through conversation & games for his gospel to be shared.

Saturday 8/1 will be spent exploring central London and giving thanks for the week as a whole!

We thank God for you all, for your love and support! And we thank God for New Life Suwarta Sangat for so graciously receiving our team and allowing us the opportunity to partner with them. To Him be the glory this week and every week!

- Helene (for all the Norrises)

We believe that the Lord has something for our team and our family in London. Let the adventure begin! And please God, help Sam sleep on the plane!
