Run, Hike, Eat

This was the pattern for us over the last few weekends...

Run

We ran the HCAVa8k in Richmond with our friends Julie and Sarah. Check out these photos of Steve's sweet running get-up. Steve gave us nicknames that were displayed on our race bibs: The Beast & Mrs. Beast. Nice. We also watched a bunch of friends finish the Half and Full Marathons that same day. Shout out to Tom Krieger who rocked the marathon the day before his 30th birthday!

Hike

We hiked Spy Rock with the high school youth group. At the summit, I initiated a game to see who could hold their hand in ice cold water the longest. The students were tough competitors...

We eventually called a draw!

Eat

[Not my photo, but dinner looked mighty close to this!]

Naturally, we stuffed our faces on Thanksgiving with Mama Norris' delicious food. Seriously, this woman knows how to do Thanksgiving cooking! Any cooking for that matter :) We had a great visit in PA minus the smoke monster. Yes, the smoke monster. Without rehashing the whole ordeal, I'll put it this way: a raging fire in the fireplace + a closed flue + a quick decision to douse the growing fire = a smoke monster. Thankfully we (including the house) were all safe, and I think it brought us all together. After we settled down and the smoke cleared enough to re-enter the house, we prayed together as a family. That was special.

Also, see this website for some funny Thanksgiving Day cartoons. I like the second one -- it could have applied to us thanks to Penny 'Counter Surfer' Norris. She didn't lick the turkey, but she did snag a loaf of banana bread!
