London by photo

 Traveling, adjusting, learning...

Rough start. Our flight from RIC to ATL was delayed, which caused us to miss our connecting flight. We spent far too long in the Atlanta airport.

Yes, it is 2:35AM. And no, we are not flying.

Brunch feast at Ruby Tuesday. Thank you trip insurance!

Still in Atlanta. Boys making the best of the situation.

In London, finally. Heading to our hotel on the tube.

This pretty much sums up Day #1. That's Helene on the right. This photo must be strategically cropped so you can't see her mouth hanging wide open.

We visited a Hindu temple to learn and gain further understanding of the spiritual climate. Many of the people we met in Harrow were Hindu.

When we were not riding the tube or a double decker, we were walking. Showing some more energy here.

Serving, loving, laughing...

For the sake of the families and the ministry of the church, we will not post photos from Kids Club or Teen Club. Here are some of just our team members, which will give you a picture (pun intended) of what our time was like.

Helene worked with Allison & Emma pre-trip to plan crafts for the week. See our cute paper dolls?

Eliza, Alex & Elena getting crafty. Look at the multiple rubbish bins in the back.

We made these bracelets on the last day of club.

Part of our kitchen crew. We introduced some of our British friends to tacos.

Safety first, people. Ben & Steve served as excellent crossing guards as kids walked to the park for sports.

Discussing games for Teen Club. Thankfully it only rained one day, so we could be outside most of the time.

Smiling because we just ate a delicious meal of fish & chips.

Helene & roommates ready for Parents' Night.

Outside of the church building, our home away from home.

Boys enjoying one of many tasty Indian meals.

Youth leader ladies.

Exploring, sight-seeing, checking out...

I actually busted out my camera on our free day in Central London! All of the above photos were snagged off Facebook. Thanks for posting teenagers!

Steve was in charge of all the boys. They called him Dad all day long.

Steve's highlight, obviously. We had a lot of great vegetarian throughout the week, but there's nothing like a good piece of meat.

For the Sherlock Holmes fans.

And for the Harry Potter fans.

London knows how to do public transportation. Mind the gap!

Outside the Tower of London.

Tower Bridge.

Julie & Helene outside Buckingham Palace.

The back of Buckingham after our tour of the palace.

Westminster Abbey where our group attended an Evensong.

Other side of the Abbey.

Big Ben!

Just making some phone calls :)

Group photo at Trafalgar Square.

Traveling, snoozing, re-adjusting...

Outside the Premier Inn ready to go.

Heading home after a wonderful trip.

The BEST part of our trip was serving alongside our students and watching them love others and live out the gospel. Seriously, it overwhelmed us. It was a joy to be with them, to see God work in & through them, to witness each of them lead, engage, take risks. We feel humbled and oh so blessed.
