Dog farm

Steve and I were lying in bed last night discussing our retirement. Weird, I know. We talked about one day living in the country of Virginia, maybe near water, maybe on a little commune with friends & family, and owning a lot of land as well as a lot of dogs! One dog for every acre!! Ok, maybe not that many mutts, but at least 4 or 5. We could picture the Norris dog farm so clearly as we drifted into dreamland. Despite our sleepiness, we proceeded to choose the type of dogs we wanted and potential names for each. So in our state of bemusement, here's what we came up with...

Black lab, "Belle" as in the Disney princess from Beauty & the Beast

Golden retriever, not sure of the name, maybe "Kenzie" or "Grace"

Irish setter, "Beamer" in honor of Virginia Tech's head football coach, the great Frank Beamer

Bernese mountain dog, "Dempsey" a solid name, also my maiden name, which I am extremely proud of

German short-haired pointer pup, "Charlie" or "Chuck" as in Chuck Norris, couldn't resist

Newfoundland, "Chewbacca" or "Chewy" for the renowned Star Wars character (at Steve's request)

Vizsla pup, "Penny" because she is the color of a penny, and Penny is the name of a character on LOST

Gordon setter/golden retriever mix, obviously this is our Riley, but we would absolutely love another "Riley" down the road
