Memorial Day at the river

I know this post is slightly tardy as Memorial Day weekend was well over a week ago, but I just had to share about our time. We had a full house for the weekend... the Marcerons, the Norrises, Mom & Bob & Nat as well as some dear friends. Oh, and of course, the dogs! 4 of them to be exact. We enjoyed plenty of relaxation balanced with a good dose of activity. Actually, we were probably more active than we've ever been at the river house, largely due to all the youngsters present. We played volleyball (well, a version of it since we used a badminton net, ha!), boccie, dice game, charades (a classic in our family)... we rode on the boat, wake boarded (until the engine ate the rope), tubed, kayaked, and swam "to the buoy!!" We also ate, drank and slept very well throughout the weekend. The Marcerons brought a 7 person inflatable island, which provided a great place to chill right on the water, and also provided opportunity to reference LOST constantly. A few of my personal highlights from the weekend include: riding in Gigi's new convertible with the girls, shoveling the dead fish off the yard and hearing Danny scream like a girl (wish we had a video camera for that whole fiasco), watching Lola chase Riley (3lbs vs 85lbs), and cruisin' in the boat with my aunt & uncle just soakin up the sun & chatting about life. Charades proved to be just as fun as ever; the game has become a tradition in our family that never fails to grant us countless laughs and memories... hormones, "You guys are fricken dumb!!", book (seriously Mike?), etc. etc. I just love our family, as big and dramatic and crazy as it is. We all know how to have fun, how to laugh and how to get everyone involved!
