The giver (Home-ownership: A 30 Day Series)

Day 4: Consisted of sanding the trim further to get it "primed" and ready for the painters on Mon. & Tues. Not to worry, I have peeled no more paint. We also took off closet doors, counted outlets and light switch panels, and jammed to the Justin Bieber Pandora station. Don't judge. Steve & James put up a few more railings on the fence, and we made a crucial decision of how much space to leave between pickets. Crucial decision.

I must admit that I was rather distracted in church this morning. My mind was polluted with house projects, which left little room for the Lord. My worship was misdirected. I found myself praying, "Lord, give me focus, give me perspective. Forgive me. You are greater, more worthy than these things." The fact that I managed to utter that prayer is evidence of the Spirit at work. This is a common problem among us humans, worshiping the gifts over the giver. And this struggle has felt more pronounced for me lately. Thank you Jesus that this is even a struggle, that you offer help, and that you love me through it.

God is good.
