Day 21: We said a final goodbye to Morningside Dr. today. We turned in our keys, wished the new renters well (they have a yellow lab, love that!), and visited our dear neighbors: Gloria, the neighborhood watch. She's not nosy, just observant, and she always kept us in the loop on who was coming & going. She made corn pudding for me when I got my wisdom teeth out. Richard, our walking buddy. We met him when Penny was a puppy. When we'd see him on our daily walks, he would kindly walk with us for a bit. He bought the dogs treats from Three Dog Bakery for Christmas last year.
We waved to the house with the crazy white dog that made Penny anxious. We drove past the park on Keystone and past the house of the guy-who-walks-to-Kroger-every-day-and-loves-talking-about-the-weather. We said goodbye to our beloved neighborhood of three years. I'm sure we'll still drive through occasionally or visit the park (it served us well for volleyball games and fetch).
Goodbye Morningside. Hello Lycoming. Hello new street, new walking route, new cast of neighbors, new friends, new memories.
God is good.
